on "N+I Multimedia Exhibition"
in Tokyo, Japan, Symtron Technology
Introducing Face Recognition Software "FaceOn
PC Suite" and "FaceOn Access Control" |
Symtron
Technology, famous in its leading technology of
face recognition, will demonstrate face recognition
software "FaceOn PC Suite" and "FaceOn
Access Control" in N+I multimedia Exhibition.
Among all of the biometrics recognition
techniques, face recognition is the only one
that comply with multimedia infrastructures
of PC and intelligence appliance (IA), which
makes it possible for Symtron products to integrate
with gate securing system integrators, PC Camera
and PDA suppliers. The worse price slump in
PC camera than in fingerprint recognition device
provides face recognition more opportunities
to conquer the market.
According to the statistics of
International Biometric Group (IBG), market
of global biometrics recognition reached 58
million US dollars, and 15% of the market goes
to face recognition field. The price slumps
of computer peripherals, such as PC camera and
fingerprint recognition device have been stimulating
biometrics market to grow radically. The market
is expected to expand to 590 million US dollars,
10 times bigger than now. Frost & Sullivan
also estimated that the market scale would reach
2.6 billion by 2006 only in the US market.
Developed in Taiwan, "FaceOn
PC Suite" and "FaceOn Access ControlTM"
provide a safer and more convenient solution
for computer process and gate security. Symtron
Technology is the only supplier in N+I multimedia
Exhibition that masters the technology of face
recognition and is capable of offering a total
hardware and software solution. It shows that
the entry barrier of face recognition is higher
than other recognition techniques and makes
Symtron a big player in biometrics recognition
industry.
It is a big year for Symtron. After
receiving "Best of Taiwan's Best Awards"
in COMDEX FALL, Symtron now is not only
incorporated in BioAPI system by I/O Software,
but also estimated to become the log in solution
provider for next version of Windows. Shin Kong
Hospital also adopted Symtron's "FaceOn
Access Control," a doorway securing system
introduced this May combining the face recognition
technology with a magnetic card reader device.
Dr. Alan Yeh, President of Symtron
Technology, indicated that face-recognition
technology is booming and diversifying due to
the wide application of PC camera and its characteristic
of "no need to touch users. "Face
recognition will become the most technological
application in wireless communication security,
on-line crime prevention, intelligent surveillance
and internet ID management in the coming years,"
said Yeh, "Symtron will not miss this revolution
in security control and management."
